...'quick recoveries cover a multitude of sins.'

A mate, Graham Chilman likes to eat breakfast at Chianti Classico in Hutt Street Adelaide so he invited me to join him today.

We ordered a juice, some tea and the food. The juices and teas came. His meal came. He was half way through it but mine hadn't arrived. I got up and asked the coffee machine assistant if they had forgotten my brekkie. She assured me they wouldn't have. They had. She apologised with many apologies when they brought my breakfast but... you guessed it ... it was the wrong order. So back they came a few minutes later with the right order.

I was just tucking in [it was delicious and well prepared] when the head waited came over and knelt down and straight up said, 'Gentlemen, I can't apologise enough for the mess-up and there will be no charge for your food and drinks.'

I said, 'Top recovery!' I'll make you famous for that!

I recalled that down the road at a competitor a few years back my brother had found a Band Aid in his salad and the waiter had laughed and said, 'I wonder how that got there!' No recovery at all. I've never been back.

But Chianti Classico? You've won me!
